This Privacy Policy describes how LocalNanny (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application.

Privacy-First Design: LocalNanny is designed to keep your camera feeds completely private. All video streams stay on your local network and are never sent to our servers or any cloud service.

  • Camera feeds are NEVER collected or transmitted to us
  • All video streams remain on your local network
  • Camera configurations are stored only on your device
  • LocalNanny does not transmit video data outside your local network

Automatically Collected Information

LocalNanny does not use any third-party analytics or tracking services. We may receive limited data through Apple’s built-in services, which you can control on your device:

  • App Analytics — Apple may collect anonymous usage and crash data if you have opted in via Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. This data is aggregated by Apple and shared with developers in a way that cannot identify individual users.
  • Crash Reports & Diagnostics — Apple may collect crash logs to help us fix bugs. No video data is ever included.

How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain our app
  • Improve and optimize app performance
  • Respond to your requests and provide customer support
  • Send you important updates about the app

Sharing Camera Settings

LocalNanny lets you share camera settings with family members via QR code or a localnanny:// app link. When you share settings:

  • Sharing is entirely peer-to-peer — nothing is sent to LocalNanny servers.
  • Settings are encoded directly in the QR code or link. No server is involved in generating or transmitting them.
  • Shared settings may include camera credentials (username and password) if you have saved them. Be mindful of how you share the link.
  • If you share via iMessage, the link is protected by iMessage’s end-to-end encryption. Other sharing methods (email, SMS, etc.) may not be encrypted.

Data Storage and Security

  • Camera video streams stay on your local network — never uploaded anywhere
  • Camera settings are stored locally on your device
  • All app preferences and data stay on your device
  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information

Third-Party Services

LocalNanny does not integrate any third-party analytics, trackers, or advertising SDKs. The only external data collection that may occur is through Apple’s built-in services described above, which are controlled by your device settings.
